PRESS RELEASE FOR THE WIZARD OF OZ There was a ‘feel good’ factor when people walked through the door of the Longmeadow Centre on Thursday 14th May when Andover Day Services and Andover Adult and Family Learning joined forces to present an evening of entertainment. The Dance and Drama Group gave a fantastic performance of The Wizard of Oz, made possible by the Director, Tony Allgood of Alligator Theatre Ltd. The Makaton Group’s enthusiastic and brilliant delivery of their songs encouraged the audience to participate in the singing and signing. Behind the scenes, the Skills for Independent Living Computer Group produced a beautifully designed programme for the evening, which was kindly printed by Adsema. The Art Group at Andover Day Services painted the stunning scenery for the performance. At the end of the evening, all those who took part were presented with a Certificate by Gillian Fifield of Hampshire Learning. As the audience were leaving comments such as ‘it was the best evening out for months – Felix thought it was going to be good, but it was even better than he thought’, were heard by all. A big thank you to Tracey Carus and her Team at Andover Day Services for making this partnership venture with Andover Adult and Family Learning such a success. |
